December 2009
Wow, it’s Christmas, how time flies……… I hope you all have a lovely relaxing festive season, and everybody gets what they want from Father Christmas. You have all been lovely in our classes, so we have put a good word in!! But before we put our feet up and gorge on mince pies and Christmas telly……
Adult Classes
Don’t forget the keep fit class
at Alwoodley on a Tuesday at 6.30pm
– we expect to see it packed with people wanting to rid themselves of their
Christmas indulgence………
Cheerleading – East Ardsley
A new class for the tinies will start immediately after Christmas on Thursdays at East Ardsley at 4.45pm. The first one will be the 7th January 2010. Please note we are dependent on numbers so need at least six people.
Northern Ballet – Christmas Carol
What an amazing
opportunity!!!!! We had an amazing ten
days with Northern Ballet Theatre, working with proper real dancers……… I think every person involved now
wants to be a dancer, including Carol. A
huge thanks to all my helpers/chaperones, we could not have done this without
you.
The urchins - Emelia Bradbury,
Millie and Georgia Crosby, Darcey Tillotson, Katie Phillips, Mimi Thouvignon,
Lucia Stanton, Bria Westcarr, Amy Cassidy, Emily Sykes, Morgan Dodd, Rebecca
Monk, Olivia Rogoz, Naomi Sykes, Devi Sahota, Caitlin & Isobel Jewell,
Samantha Taylor, Elise Thompson, Mia Curley and Amy Gorry – were unbelievable,
so professional.
Similarly the two Tiny Tims,
Jacob Cassidy (Amy’s brother) and Sam Dunkley (Alice’s
brother) had a ball and were superb.
We had some really lovely comments made about the children from everyone from the canteen staff to the Artistic Director. Their behaviour was fantastic, and they all did as they were told.
Don’t forget to collect your programme from me, if I have it. I do have lots of photos taken over the course of the 10 days and will get these put on a disc. If anyone else has any pics, please email them to me and these can be included too. This will be a fantastic momento for the children.
If you were not chosen this time, do not despair. Often we are asked for children who fit a specific criteria, it is nothing personal. Keep putting your name forward, you might be the one who fits the bill next time.
East Ardsley Disruption
Thank you also to everyone who put up with the disruption at East Ardsley over the two weekends. I know it was a pain, but your cooperation was really appreciated.. Everything back to normal now.
Competitions/Festivals
Next one at the end of February – preparations will start as soon as we are back in Jan. Speak to Sandra Irving/me if you want to enter.
Fees
The fees were due the last week of November and still there are fees outstanding. If this is an oversight on your part, or you have not received a bill from us, then please get in touch immediately. We reserve the right to request that pupils do not return in January if their fees remain unpaid, or to levy an interest charge of 25% of the total bill.
Payment can be made by cash,
cheque or online. Cheques can be sent to 15 Woodland
Park Road, Headingley, Leeds,
LS6 2AZ. Please put the name of
the pupil on the back of the cheque. Do not send cash through the post. If you
want to pay online, please get in contact and we can let you have the details.
School Trips
A school trip is running for
Hairspray and Romeo and Juliet, separate information will be circulated if you
haven’t already seen it at EACC.
Reports
We decided at the end of last year that Reports would be a good idea. The feedback we have received so far has been very positive.
And finally……………
My life gets stranger……….I have
now been awarded the honour of being voted onto the Royal Academy of Dance’s
Board of Trustees. This is an
unbelievable position, and I am still reeling from the shock, but feel very privileged
to be one of twenty people in the whole world to be involved in the Academy’s
decision making process.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. See you in 2010, our 10th Anniversary.
